Makers say it encourages horses to relax.

The inventors of a vibrating bit say it enhances horses’ performance because it encourages them to relax.

The Vbite bit vibrates when activated by a Bluetooth connected app.

The Vbite is coated in waterproof rubber and equipped with a vibration system activated via a Bluetooth-connected app

The Italian makers claim that stimulating equine salivary glands through vibration encourages chewing - and that releasing the jaw muscles “induces a state of calm and empathetic cooperation in the horse.”

The Vbite is marketed as suitable for training and competing as well as potentially stressful situations such as vet or farrier visits and clipping.

Whether its use is permitted in competitions would be a matter for the respective sports’ governing bodies.
