…But no trade stands allowed - plus Olympics news.

The British Dressage (BD) Winter Championships are back on.

The NAF Five Star Winter Championships and Petplan Equine Area Festival Championships were cancelled in April due to coronavirus. Now they’re set to run at Hartpury, Glos on 17 to 23 August, 2020.

In a survey of qualified competitors, three-quarters told BD they want to compete at a rescheduled, Covid-secure show.

At Hartpury, two outside competition arenas will run consecutively side by side, except during freestyle [music] classes. There will be no spectators, gala evenings, sponsors or hospitality – and no trade stands.

“As we’re working to limited numbers on site, if we had trade stands that would add about 30 more people to the total, so sadly not,” a spokesman for BD told ETN.

Stabling and limited catering will be available, and each competitor can have one helper per horse.
