The Society of Master Saddlers (SMS) has launched a Bridle Fitting Qualification.
The initiative aims to raise standards in the industry and enhance equine welfare.
Like all SMS qualifications, the new bridle fitting one is approved by City & Guilds. The course to accompany it will enrol its first students next summer (2020).
The SMS has already run Introductory Bridle Fitting courses, with grants from the Loriners’ Company, and says interest in the importance of well-fitting bridles has increased year-on-year.
The Saddlers’ Company has contributed to the cost of developing the new qualification.
