Grace period granted as season gets underway.
British Eventing (BE) has given competitors an extra six weeks to upgrade their body protectors.
By a new deadline of Monday, 8 April, all body protectors worn at any BE affiliated event must meet the Level 3 BETA 2018 standard (blue label).
After this date, garments labelled BETA 2009 (purple) will no longer be permitted.
BE said in a statement that it had been informed of “a supply issue being seen by some in relation to the new Level 3 blue BETA 2018 standard body protector.”
The grace period had been agreed with its insurers, added BE.
