Event is first chance post-pandemic for extensive debate and updates.

Prohibited substances – and other issues facing equine feed companies supplying racing and competition horses - is the hot topic of next month’s BETA Feed Conference.

The event, organised by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) and sponsored by Premier Nutrition, runs over two days at the Hilton Hotel, East Midlands Airport on 27/28 June.

Tickets are available (see below) to attend in person, with optional dinner, bed and breakfast, or to live stream the conference.

On Tuesday 27 June, expert speakers cover Naturally Occurring Prohibited Substances (NOPS) topics with sessions on sporting regulatory and legal perspectives, emerging risks and a situation update.

“The day provides not only essential CPD but is the first opportunity since 2019 for a wide-ranging debate on matters prohibited substances,” says Claire Williams, executive director of BETA.

Day two of the conference sees speakers and delegates tackle the big challenges facing the equine nutrition industry.

Sessions will cover the responsible marketing of products, sustainability in sourcing and production of feed, plus government regulatory updates.

There will be a conference dinner on the evening of the first day (27 June) with pre-dinner speaker Helen Nicholls, World Class Performance Director of British Equestrian.

The conference is open to BETA members and non-members and anyone working in the equine feed or related industries.
