TRADE FAIR ORGANISER ISSUES SCAM WARNING

“Please stay vigilant.”

A slew of fake emails that “may attempt to deceive” has prompted BETA International’s organiser to issue a warning to its exhibitors.

The scams promote the supply of visitor lists or offers of services at the show.

Proposals for inclusion in bogus exhibitor directories, for a fee which may not be made clear from the outset, are also doing the rounds.

Some suspect emails appear to carry the official logo for the BETA International trade fair, to be held at Stoneleigh on 22/23 September.

“Please stay vigilant,” is the message from show organiser EMC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Group.

“We are committed to ensuring your safety and the integrity of our communications.”

Neither BETA International nor the Trade Association ever sell lists of visitors or other contacts so if these are offered they will be fraudulent.

To check the legitimacy of an email, contact tradefair@beta-int.com or tel 01937 582111.
