Heavy rain caused safety issues.
Trade stand holders at the Festival of British Eventing are to receive a 25% refund on their ground rents after the final day was abandoned.
The annual event - which was marking its 40th anniversary at Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, on 4 - 6 August - was badly hit by heavy rain.
The fixture was called off “with deep sadness and regret,” said organisers.
“The adverse weather experienced at Gatcombe today [Saturday 5 August] has made the site unsafe for the event to continue for all our competitors (human and equine) as well as the many thousands of spectators that were due on site tomorrow.
“Safety for all is our main priority,” they said in a statement.
